When planning your outdoor wedding,
consider the following:
Consider where the sun will be shining when setting up the ceremony location. Even on a moderate day, it can get quite hot when the sun is directly on you. Try to keep the sweating down to a minimum. Use whatever shade you have available, if possible.
Have a small electric fan off to the side on a hot day... a little movement of air can make a great difference in your comfort level.
Provide hand-held fans and/or parasols for your guests. Unfortunately, most times the chairs at outdoor weddings are set up directly in the sun without shade... and this can be quite miserable for your guests. Consider their comfort and they will appreciate it, especially the elderly among your guests.
Have cold water available for your guests, if possible.
Be prepared if you think the weather will turn cold. Tell your guests to bring coats or wraps... especially at beach weddings. If the marine layer comes in, it can get quite cold at the beach in Southern California.
Warn you guests to wear comfortable shoes if there is a walk of
any distance to the wedding site.
Try to have sunscreen and insect repellent available for your guests.
Be prepared for rain. If you don't have a Plan B for inclement weather, you are playing russian roulette with your wedding ceremony.
